Without further ado, this are the “Books like Graceling”:

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

In Throne of Glass the heroine is Celaena Sardothien. Her biggest similarity with Katsa from Graceling is her job: She is an assassin. At the beginning she is in the salt mines of Endovier. The Crown Prince offers her her freedom. For this she has to be his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Throne of Glass offers a lot of adventure, thrill, fantasy, magic and romance. It’s a fantastic books series.

Fire (A Companion to Graceling) by Kristin Cashore

Fire (Graceling Realm Book 2) by Kristin Cashore

This is a little bit of an to obvious choice, but I want to name it here, because it is very different from Graceling. It has an almost entirely new cast of characters. Only one person plays a pivotal role in both books.

The young King Nash is klinging to his throne. Rebel lords in the south and north want to take it from him. War is coming to Dells. Fire is an impossibly and irresistible beautiful girl. She can control the minds of everyone around her.

Touch of Power (Healer) by Maria V. Snyder

Touch of Power (Healer) by Maria V. Snyder

Avry of Kazan is the opposite of Katsa from Graceling. She doesn’t kill, she heals. She absorbs the wounds and diseases of the the injured and dying into herself. But healers like her, are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Fifteen Realms. Avry is stressed and tired from hiding, when she is abducted bay a band of rogues. But these don’t fear her power, they value her gift. Their leader has powers of his own. But their demands ar high: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. The price of peace may be her life.

Touch of Power is a terribly romantic political thriller set in a fantasy world filled with warfare, intrigue, and the kind of weak in the knees passionate romance that has one saying, I hate you because I love you to a point that unhinges my soul….. I just haven’t realized it yet.

Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

The heroine in “The Girl of Fire and Thorns” is chosen for greatness. This happens once a century and this times it is Elise – the younger one of two princesses. She hasn´t done anything remarkable so far and doesn´t think she ever will be. Now at the age of sixteen she has become the “secret” wife af a handsome king with a country in turmoil. The king needs Elise not to be a failure. He needs her to be the chosen one.

Elise may not be an assassin, but this is a very intense trilogy and full of adventure, sorcery, heartbreak and power. Definitely a strong recommendation.

I’ve read and loved almost all of these except for The Girl of Fire and Thorns and Touch of Power but judging by my opinion of the bothers on this list, it looks like they have the potential to be favorite reads of mine! 🙂
